Recently, however as gaming continues its upwards trajectory through the mainstream, more and more celebrities are talking about gaming experiences they had as children. While on tour for his upcoming filmThe Batman, Robert Pattinson detailed his surprising love and internal conflict for both Tifa and Aerith ofFinal Fantasy 7fame. Not only that, but Pattinson claims his deep love extended not just to the characters butFinal Fantasy 7as a whole.During a French interview forThe Batmanalongside co-star Zoe Kravitz, Robert Pattinson lays bare his love for the originalFinal Fantasy 7, exclaiming how fascinated he was by the Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith love triangle and that he simply could not choose between both Tifa and Aerith because he loved both equally. He goes on to saythat he was absolutely smitten because Aerithwas “the really kind girl” who just wanted to heal everything and everyone and make the world a better place. While on the other hand, Tifa’s “like this sexy little thing” who’s similar to a thief and wears a short skirt. Though she is the same character, Pattinson presumes this was due to a mistranslation ofFinal Fantasy 7in different territories.

After numerous years in development, part 1 of theFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewas released in 2020 to outstanding critical and commercial success, making it one of Square Enix’s most popular releases in quite some time. While it is currently unclear which title gamers will be receiving first,Final Fantasy 16or part 2 ofFinal Fantasy 7, it has been hinted thatsome news on part 2 ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewill be headed gamers' way at some point in 2022.

It has also been revealed thatin addition to all the otherFinal Fantasy 7projectscurrently in the works, such asFinal Fantasy 7: The First Soldier, even more titles are in development to spin-off of the seminal title. That’s a lot ofFinal Fantasy 7; no doubt a younger Robert Pattinson would’ve been excited.
