The original game is one of the genre defining releases of the late-90s, and would go on to be one of themost influential tactical RPGsof all time. While it was leaked before its official unveiling, this remastered re-release will soon be hitting modern platforms for new fans to try and veterans to re-experience.
WithTactics Ogre: Reborn’s release datelooming on the horizon, Square Enix has been providing fans with a look into some of the features that this remaster will bring. This includes revised battle mechanics, remastered sound effects and music, and even fully voiced cutscenes. The official Square Enix website even details the many classes and characters that players can recruit to their army, along with what has changed between the original game and this upcoming remaster. The latest update to the game is a brand-new trailer focused on its story.

This trailer forTactics Ogre: Rebornwas uploaded onSquare Enix’s official YouTube channel, with some regions calling it the “Final” trailer before it releases. Players embody the role of a young knight known as Denam Pavel, whose homeland of the Valerian Isles has been besieged by the Galgastani and Bakram-Valerian forces.
This story trailer features some of the re-recorded orchestral music, along with snippets of the new voice acting players will hear in the various cutscenes ofTactics Ogre: Reborn. This includes major characters like Denam himself and allies like Canopus. Brief moments of gameplay are also shown, where players travel across the land while taking on the many foes and making decisions that can affect the branching story paths that will affect the ending of the game.
Many fans are hyped for this tactical JRPG revival, with many noting how much love and attention had been done to not only preserve the original experience, but also add some modern conveniences. Many are hoping that sinceTactics Ogre: Rebornis getting a remastered release, this can lead to aremaster ofFinal Fantasy Tactics, though that remains to be seen.
