Respawn and EA have just released a new update patch forStar Wars Jedi: Survivoron PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, which will address many of the bugs and glitches that have plagued the game at launch. The sequel to 2019’sStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderfinally launched across most major platforms last weekend, earning warm reviews from critics for expanding upon the Metroidvaina-style gameplay and blistering combat of the first installment. Set five years after the events ofFallen Order,Star Wars Jedi: Survivorsees Cal Kestis on a new mission to uncover a hidden sanctuary lost in the days of the High Republic while evading the Empire.WhileStar Wars Jedi: Survivorgarnered plenty of pre-launch buzz for its new lightsaber combat styles and surprisingly deep character customization options, the game’s release hasn’t been without its shortcomings. Continuing a trend that has sadly become all-too-common in recent years,Jedi: Survivorshipped withnumerous game-crashing bugs and glitchesthat have soured the experience for many and resulted in a wave of negative player reviews. The PC port ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivorseems to have borne the brunt of these technical issues, but the console releases on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S aren’t immune.RELATED:Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Analysis Names It The Worst PC Port of This YearThankfully, EA and Respawn have pledged to address these problems with update patches, thefirst of which was released on PC yesterdayand offered performance improvements for non-raytraced renderings. Now, an expanded patch has been launched for consoles, as predicted by yesterday’s announcement post on the EA Star Wars Twitter account. This update weighs in at 1.17GB and contains several fixes that have already been implemented in the PC version. These will address various graphical issues, the game sometimes crashing when the player skips cutscenes, and a few other reported problems.
One of the biggest issues this latestStar Wars Jedi: Survivorupdate fixes is aglitch in the Chamber of Duality, where the player could be trapped inside the dungeon and forced to restart the game from the very beginning if they didn’t save their progress beforehand. Other bugs and glitches that players have come across include one where Cal permanently loses XP after being killed by a certain enemy and problems withJedi: Survivor’s HDR settings. Thankfully, some players have found a workaround to this latter issue by changing a certain setting on the PlayStation 5.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris a fun game, but its many bugs could ruin the experience for players, especially when it comes tolosing vital progress or experience points. The latestJedi: Survivorupdate patch might not address every issue fans have had with it since launch, but it is certainly a step in the right direction for making sure more players get to enjoy the game as Respawn intended.
