Summary
OneStarfieldplayer has recently stumbled upon an extremely powerful automatic rail carbine that promises to melt through pretty much any enemy. Their lucky find is just the latest in a long string ofgodroll equipment thatStarfieldfans have been pullingsince the game hit the store shelves in early September.
Bethesda’s latest RPG features a loot system that’s extremely similar to that ofFallout 76, primarily because it divides weapons and equipment into a trio of rarity tiers with up to three randomly generated effects. And though these mechanics can often generate useless items with clashing perks, the system is also capable of producing some trulydevastatingStarfieldweapons, provided the player is lucky enough.
Reddit user HrafnHaraldsson can very much attest to that fact, having recently managed to pull an extremely powerful automatic carbine rifle that was good enough to make the rest of theirStarfieldarsenal obsolete. The weapon, called Shattering Overcharged Advanced Magshear, boasts a 345 fire rate, meaning it can discharge 34.5 projectiles per second. At 79 physical damage per bullet, the Magshear’s core stats already guarantee an impressive 2725.5 points of base damage per second. However, its DPS is actually much higher, not least because of the Furious effect that makes each consecutive hit deal extra damage.
As if that perk didn’t already make the rifle deadly enough, this randomly generated Magshear also benefits from the Shattering trait, which allows it to ignore enemy armor. Its third perk randomly adds incendiary damage to rounds, which synergizes well with the ridiculous rate of fire that ensures this effect will trigger fairly often. Overall, the weapon can easily surpass 4,000 DPS, with its Furious effect ensuring that its damage scales with enemy toughness.
The only downside of thisextremely powerfulStarfieldweaponis its magazine size; as it the case with all Magshears, the legendary rifle pulled by HrafnHaraldsson comes with a clip that only fits 75 bullets, and will hence go empty in a matter of seconds. On the other hand, that’s not a big handicap in practice, as most mobs in the game will be long dead by the time the player empties a full Magshear magazine into them.
Being lucky enough to pull something of this sort is far from the only way to dish out some severe punishment in Bethesda’s galaxy-hopping RPG. That’s largely because there are plenty ofexcellent heavy weapons thatStarfieldplayers can always findat predetermined locations throughout the game.
Starfieldis available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
