Bethesda finally announced the much-leakedStarfieldcontroller, headset, and a limited-edition watch, most of which are already available for purchase. Its reveals came as part of today’s Starfield Direct that also included theconfirmation ofStarfield’sfirst post-launch DLC, a new gameplay trailer, and plenty of other information about the upcoming space-faring RPG.TheStarfield-themed gadgets have been one of Bethesda’s worst-kept secrets over the past few months, having leaked on multiple occasions throughout spring. Both the controller andStarfieldXbox headset even hit some retailersin the run-up to their June 11 announcement, so their unveilings likely didn’t come as a surprise to fans keeping up with the game’s news cycle.RELATED:Starfield Reveals 5 New Companions and Romance OptionsAs for the LPV6 Chronomark Watch,thatStarfieldcollector’s item leakedalongside its user manual all the way back in early 2022. Today’s announcement confirmed that the watch will only be available as part of the game’s Constellation Edition, which is priced at $299.99. The bundle also includes a watch case, a patch with the logo of the game’s Constellation faction, and a steelbook display case with nothing to put in it. Namely, the collector’s edition ofStarfieldwill only ship with a download code instead of a physical copy of the game. Meanwhile, theStarfieldcontroller and headset are already available for purchase from Microsoft, priced at $79.99 and $124.99, respectively.
Where to Buy Starfield Controller, Headset, and Constellation Edition Watch
The LPV6 Chronomark Watch appears to be a like-for-like recreation ofthe wristwatch thatStarfieldplayers will use in the game. And though the timepiece has some basic smartwatch functionality like the ability to relay notifications from a phone, it also comes with a lengthy list of disclaimers stating that the device doesn’t have a touch screen, doesn’t support cellular service, and cannot transmit phone calls. The “LPV6” part of its moniker also shouldn’t be confused with an IP rating, as there’s no indication that the gadget’s casing is in any way protected from the elements.
The timepiece itself is made by The Wand Company, a British manufacturer known for creating premium props like Poke Balls andStar Trekcommunicators, which inspires confidence in its build quality. And while the LPV6 Chronomark Watch likely won’t offer much value beyond being a collector’s item, that’s not to say Bethesda will have any issues selling out the Constellation Edition ofStarfield, one of the most anticipated AAA games of 2023.
TheStarfieldheadset and controller have also been announced as limited-edition items, but there’s no indication that either is in danger of going out of stock for the time being. Ultimately, both appear to be reskinned variants of mass-produced Xbox accessories, so Microsoft will presumably keep selling them for as long as it sees fit.
