In a new post on r/Pokemon, one Redditor shared a picture of their undeniably creative, and utterly unsettling, piece ofPokemonfusionfan art. Describing their creation as “cursed,” Redditor crossingcrafts showed off their sculpture of a frightening fusion of Mewtwo and Magikarp. Drawing inspiration from the fan-madePokemonInfinite Fusion project, crossingcrafts’ mashed-up Pokemon has Mewtwo’s general body shape and aggressive posture but bears Magikarp’s distinctive red coloring. Featuring Magikarp’s gold crown perched squarely atop its head, the unusual creature wears Mewtwo’s ever-present scowl on its otherwise fish-like face.

Despite its unusual appearance the level of detail on the sculpture is undeniably impressive, with small features like the water splashing up at the creature’s feet helping to give the piece a polished, professional look. Fans ofPokemonresponding to the picture praised crossingcrafts’ sculpting skills, though some joked that they were somewhat horrified by the finished piece. One commenter lightheartedly pondered if “Arceus, too, stays in heaven for fear of what we come up with in the Fusion Generator?” Other responses debated what to call the unusual creature, with several Redditors suggesting the Pokemon portmanteau of MewKarp. Another Redditor pointed out that although crossingcrafts’ creature looked intimidating it probably wouldn’t put up much of a fight, posting in jest “Why be scared? It can only splash and tackle.”

Thisimpressive Mewtwoand Magikarp fusion sculpture is an excellent example of the sorts of interesting and inspired art pieces thatPokemonfans continue to create. And while, with its unusual appearance, the slightly scary-looking creature probably won’t win the next Kanto Region beauty pageant, it definitely makes for a great showpiece and would be a unique addition to anyPokemonfan’s collection.
