Rockstar Games releasedRed Dead Redemption 2in 2018 and because it still holds up on the new consoles, it continues to be played by a dedicated community. OneRed Dead Redemption 2fan has noticed that their Texas koozie features art clearly inspired by official art for the game.
Reddit user MaseSama recently shared an image of a a Texas souvenir koozie intended for use with cans that resembles a fraction ofRed Dead Redemption 2art that was used to promote the Rockstar game. While the koozie’s design reflects the scorching heat of Texas andRed Dead Redemption 2alike, the item is fittingly being used to cool a beverage in MaseSama’s photo. The aforementioned koozie art shows silhouettes of prominent characters inRed Dead Redemption 2like Arthur Morgan, Dutch van der Linde, and Bill Williamson riding their horses in the Western setting.

TheRed Dead Redemption 2art used for the cover art and featured on MaseSama’s koozie shows Dutch’s gang from the game riding into the horizon with a massive sun setting at the heart of the familiar red color used in mostRed Deadmarketing. The font used to bold the word Texas on MaseSama’s koozie would also look at home on aRed Dead Redemption 2wanted poster, which give players plenty of bounties to complete, further emphasizing the Western theming. Beyond using the name of the game, the Rockstar Games logo, or including the clear likeness of one of the popularRed Dead Redemption 2characters, MaseSama’s drink koozie may be as close to official merchandise as it gets.
Five stars of an American beer poke out from atop MaseSama’s koozie and it’s stated that their mom covers their drinks with the Texas-based souvenir. BecauseRockstar Games uses the star in its logo, this fitting addition further accentuates theRed Dead Redemption 2theme of the koozie. Though it may be inspired byRed Dead Redemption 2, many responses to MaseSama’s post point to much older Western content that may have inspired Rockstar Games during the game’s development.
Although there are clear similarities in the color scheme of the koozie andRed Dead Redemption 2, several Reddit users noted that similar Western-themed designs have been used before the Rockstar Games title was released. Two film experts in theRed Dead Redemption 2community let MaseSama know that the image of cowboys on their mom’s koozie has been used for much older movies likeThe Magnificent Seven. Given that Texas is one of the several states looselyrepresented inRed Dead Redemption 2, it may be fitting that a drink koozie from there would pay homage to the game.
