While promoting the upcoming release of theUnchartedmovie, actor Tom Holland has revealed that he also has interest in bringingJak and Daxterto the big screen. While it remains to be seen if aJak and Daxtermovie would ever happen, his pitch is certainly intriguing.

Tom Holland has had an eventful few months, asSpider-Man: No Way Homehas been breaking several recordsandUnchartedis just weeks away from making its debut. As expected, he has been being interviewed heavily, with many of the questions being about these two movies. However, given that his upcoming film is based on a video game, it is not surprising that some of these questions have been video game related as well.

While this has led toHolland listing some of his favorite games, which includeMarvel’s Spider-ManandThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, he was also asked by GameSpot what game he would like to adapt into a movie if he was given the chance to make anything he wanted.Jak and Daxterwas Holland’s answer, with the popular actor having interest in playing the lead role of Jak. With the original game featuring a young version of Jak, it is easy to imagine Holland fitting into the role well, and it would be interesting to see who would play Daxter alongside him.

As for the specifics of the film, Holland would want it to be in live action, which could certainly work forJak and Daxter. He also would like the studio behind the movie to be A24, which is responsible for unique films like Hereditary and The Lighthouse. According to Holland, this would allow for a “really weird” version ofJak and Daxterto be created, and given the wackiness of the source material, this could be for the best. With Sony clearly taking interest in more video game adaptations through projects liketheGhost of Tsushimamovie, perhapsJak and Daxtercould join the list of potential projects.

With theUnchartedmovie releasing this month and an HBO series forThe Last of Uscoming soon, Naughty Dog franchises are no stranger to live action adaptations. Considering how long it has been since the lastJak and Daxtergame released, as the remastered trilogy dropped all the way back in 2012, it would be great to see some new life breathed into the franchise. Perhaps a movie could lead to full-on remakes of the older games or even abrand-new entry in theJak and Daxterseries.

For now, all fans who want to see this film become a reality can do is voice their approval for Tom Holland’s idea. WithNaughty Dog not working onJak 4at the moment, a movie could be a good alternative forJak and Daxterfans.
