TheCircus Maximusposter shows off the music artist on a motorcycle and hosts the A24 logo. However, it appears this was either a misunderstanding or done for publicity purposes since the studio denied involvement.Varietyreached out to A24 to comment, and according to the media outlet, “the company says the movie is not actually theirs.” However, another Scott film claimed to be in collaboration with A24 titledAGGRO DR1FTwas just announced, so this could have been the correct A24 project all along, and marketing teams possibly got confused when adding the studio name on the poster for the wrong Scott film.
Talents ofCircus Maximusinclude Valdimar Jóhannsson, who did VFX forRogue One: A Star Wars Story, Gaspar Noé, the director ofEnter The Void, andDriveandOnly God Forgivesdirector Nicolas Winding Refn, among others. However, like other details, it is not known to the public and media outlets what their roles are. Variety reported there is a “32-second trailer for the film, which does not include any credits or distribution information, consisting of wildly disparate shots of Travis in exotic locations or cabs careening through city streets.” If theCircus Maximustrailer is supposed to reflect the vague marketing campaign, then it may do an accurate job showcasing what audiences can expect since the public does not seem to be informed about what this film is.
The music artist who made$20 million from a Fortnite concertlast commented on Twitter, stating that more information will be revealed soon: “We will talk more when I get better service lmaoooo.” A24 originally signed a production deal with Scott in August 2021. However, the name of the rumored project,Utopia, ended up being what the album was called, and now A24 says they have nothing to do withCircus Maximus, despite the studio being on the poster.
