PopularTwitchstreamers step aside from content creation for various reasons ranging from taking care of themselves to just enjoying some time away when they’re burnt out.Twitchstreamer Asmongold recently commented on whether he would pause livestreaming again, and his answer may surprise fans that are used to the popular streamer taking breaks.
Asmongold has taken multiple breaks from livestreaming in the past, and he speaks earnestly to his Twitch and YouTube audiences when he has to take time off from his usual schedule. When taking a break from his main channel, Asmongold is known for streaming occasionally on his secondary channel, Zackrawrr, which has its own massive following as fans eventually discover he’s streaming there rather than the main Asmongold channel. During a Twitch stream today, Asmongold was asked by a fan whether he’ll be taking any time off now that the nextWorld of Warcraftexpansionhas been revealed, and he had an unexpected reply.

After being asked by a viewer if he would step aside from content creation or livestreaming after theWorld of Warcraftexpansion announcement today,Asmongold said that he would quit streamingif he had to. The popular Twitch streamer confirmed he would not be taking a break anytime soon, barring any health issues, as he doesn’t feel it’s good for him or his community to step aside very often. Ensuring that his Twitch audience understood what he meant, Asmongold doubled down by saying, “I think the next break I take, I’ll quit. Next break will be probably quitting. If I have to take a break again, I will probably quit forever.”
Beyond simply stating that if he has to walk away from Twitch again, he will actually leave, Asmongold said that it’s his plan, which suggests that it’s eventually what he intends to do. The popular Twitch streamer pointed out that taking four or fivebreaks from Twitchisn’t good for a channel or streamer and said that if he felt so much stress from streaming, he would move on from content creation and do something different with his life. Asmongold stopped short of giving his community an idea of when he intends to walk away from his current lifestyle or what he would do in a post-Twitch life, so it’s currently unclear if the indefinite break will be anytime soon or not.
Asmongold has stated in the past that if it wasn’t for his large Twitch and YouTube following, he would be on government assistance so that he could continue playing games with his friends as much as he does. However, he may have earned enough from his career already to take lots of time off. Asmongold reached upwards of 200,000 viewers today and has hit400,000 while playingLost Ark, which may suggest that the Twitch streamer won’t be stepping aside due to a dwindling community if he disappears abruptly. The popular Twitchstreamer is one of the big voices in the MMORPG community, so if Asmongold chooses to stop creating content, a void may be left for some time.
