After months of waiting, fans finally received a long-awaited nerf to a popularCall of Duty: Warzoneskin. TheCall of Duty: Warzonepatch notesstated that the developers had adjusted Roze’s visibility in sources of light, but fans found that post-patch, the skin was darker than ever before. The YouTuber found that many changes to the Roze skin have very little to do with the skin at all. The ’80s version of Verdansk is a brighter map, and the interiors of buildings are even more well lit than before. This gives Roze fewer places to hide, and the developer nerfs only furthered the difficulty of stealth approaches. In XclusiveAce’s opinion, Roze is far from a reasonable state despite developer efforts.
Generally, the main issue that is causing this problem revolves around global lighting.Call of Duty: Warzoneis a dark game, and despite the efforts of developers to add more lights, the game remains shadowy. This means that any operator in dark clothing can successfully hide in corners with Roze being one of the more problematic examples of the issue.
While it may seem plausible to simply nerf dark outfits, darkness is a part of the competitive features in many shooters. The dark spaces give opportunities for alternative methods of attack, and this is outside theissues revolving aroundCall of Duty: Warzone’sRoze. A simple solution to this problem would be to brighten global lighting, but some fans may not accept this throughout the game.
