Dewgong evolves from Seel, a solely Water-type Pokemon. Seel and Dewgong can both be caught onRoute 230while usingSurf, orin theGrand Undergroundonce players haveobtained theNational Dex. Seel will evolve into Dewgong at level 34. Dewgong and Seel areexclusivetoPokemon Brilliant Diamond.

Glalieis a sole Ice-type Pokemon that has decent and unique stats, with an 80 across the board. Glalie has weaknesses to Fighting, Rock, Steel, and Fire-type moves. While its stats aren’t overly impressive, it does have a good move pool with Ice and Dark-type moves.

Glalie evolves from Snorunt. Both Glalie and Snorunt can be found in theGrand Underground, and Snorunt can be located onRoute 217,Route 216, orAcuity Lakefrontonce players have access to thePoke Radar. Snorunt will evolve into Glalie at level 42. This is a high-level evolution, but players can take advantage ofBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl’s Exp. Share systemtolevel up their Pokemon fast.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Froslass

8Froslass

Froslassis a Ghost and Ice-type Pokemon. Its dual-typing gives it two immunities, Fighting and Normal-type moves, and decent stats. With 100 Speed, Froslass can outpace many opponents in battle and has good attack and defense stats to back it up.

Abomasnow evolves from Snover, which can be caught onRoute 216,Route 217,Acuity Lakefront, orMt. Coronet. It can also be caught in theGrand Undergroundonce players have achieved their 7th badge. Snover will evolve into Abomasnow at level 40.

Weavileis a Dark and Ice-type Pokemon. This dual-typing gives Weavile an immunity to Psychic-type damage but also a 4X damage weakness to Fighting-type moves. Weavile can usually outpace most opponents thanks to its 125 Speed stat and has a great 120 Attack stat to back it up.

The pre-evolution to Weavile, Sneasel can be caught onRoute 216,Route 217,Snowpoint Temple,Lake Acuity, andAcuity Lakefront. It can even be caught in theGrand Undergroundonce players have obtained their 7th Gym badge. Sneasel will evolve into Weavile when holding aRazor Clawatnight time.

Glaceonis an evolution of the iconic Pokemon Eevee, and it is a solely Ice-type Pokemon that has few weaknesses and resistances. It has a phenomenal Special Attack, with its stat coming in at 130. Glaceon has enough Special Attack power that it can take out most enemies quickly, especially if they are vulnerable to Ice-type moves, as many powerful Pokemon are.

Cloyster has a great move pool, with powerful Ice and Water-type moves like Ice Beam and Razor Shell at its disposal.

Cloyster evolves from Shelder. Shelder can be caught in theGrand Undergroundonce players have obtained theNational Dex, or by using a fishing rod atFuego Ironworks,Valley Windworks, orRoute 205. Shelder evolves into Cloyster when players use aWater Stoneon it.

Mamoswineis an Ice and Ground-type Pokemon. It has a total immunity to Electric-type moves and a large Attack stat of 130. Mamoswine has a great variety in its move pool, with Ice, Rock, Ground, Psychic, and even a Fighting move in its arsenal.

Mamoswine evolves from Swinub and Piloswine. Swinub can be caught onRoute 217or theGrand Underground. Swinub will evolve into Piloswine at level 33 and Mamoswine once it has learned the moveAncient Power.

Walreinis a Defense-heavy Pokemon but has great attack capabilities too. It is an Ice and Water Pokemon and has 2x damage weakness to Fighting, Rock, Grass, and Electric-type moves.

Walrein evolves from Spheal and Sealo, both of which can be caught while surfing onRoute 226andRoute 230. Spheal, Sealo, and an already evolved Walrein can be found in theGrand Undergroundonce players have obtained theNational Dex. Spheal will evolve into Sealo at level 32 and then Walrein at level 44.

1Lapras

Laprasis a Water and Ice dual-type Pokemon. Lapras has moderate to good stats throughout, and comes in handy when fighting Ground, Flying, or Dragon-type Pokemon. Lapras' 80 Defense and 95 Special Defense give it a nice cushion for incoming attacks, and it can usually fend off Pokemon that have typings that it is weak to, like Grass, Electric, Fighting, or Rock.

Lapras is one of the more difficultIce-type Pokemon to obtain. To catch a Lapras, players will have to first beat the Pokemon League Champion and obtain theNational Dex. Lapras can then be found onVictory Roadin a large pool of water.
