Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen expansion was arguably the most successful release for the entire franchise, and it did come with outstanding quality in terms of content and new features, which extended to its accompanying Season. Albeit not fully fleshed out in its current iteration, The Witch Queen also introduced the weapon crafting system to allow players to grind out patterns and eventually obtain guaranteed god rolls on their favorite guns. There are only a handful of craftable weapons as of now inDestiny 2, which amount to 29 total, including the various Exotic glaives and the Osteo Striga SMG.
The list also includes all the new Raid weapons for which players can farm patterns through Vow of the Disciple’s secret chests. Some weapons from Vow of the Disciple are also quite good across multiple game modes, andDestiny 2players are particularly interested in guns likeForbearance, Insidious, and Cataclysmic. As such, because unlocking the patterns for every Raid weapon may be a tall task, players were expecting to see great rewards in the form of Adept Vow of the Disciple guns from its Master version.

Master Vow of the Disciplelaunched yesterday, and it does pack extra challenges compared to the regular difficulty, but it also grants Adept weapons as drops. However, a Reddit user by the name of Shaunleewenjie shared a post stating that Adept Raid weapons can’t currently drop with Enhanced Traits, and also Mementos can’t be applied to them because they aren’t crafted guns. This makes Adept weapons a less rewarding drop than they’re supposed to be, as regular crafted Vow of the Disciple guns will be better most of the time.
AnotherDestiny 2player posted another issue on Reddit under the name of NinjaRampage, with a video that shows how the game doesn’t count Adept Raid weapons for pattern requirements. What this means is that even if playersget Deepsight Resonance gunsfrom the Raid and complete the tracker, they won’t be getting any sort of progress towards unlocking those weapons at the Relic on Mars for crafting purposes. This makes Deepsight Resonance Adept weapons quite worthless, and at this stage, it’s unclear whether it’s a bug or intended behavior.
Still, it’s worth noting thatBungie will be revealing weapon changes for Season 17tomorrow in a TWAB post, and it might be worth checking it out before committing to unlocking specific patterns over others. This doesn’t change the state of Adept Raid weapons, though, and it’s likely Bungie will make a statement about these issues sometime soon.
Destiny 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
