Sort of a melee character likeHeizou, Wriothesley uses his catalyst in an interesting way, and can make for a cool playstyle on many teams. To ascend him and upgrade his talents, he’ll need all the items listed in this guide.

Where to Find All of Wriothesley’s Ascension and Talent Materials
Gemstones - Where to Find Shivada Jade
Shivada Jade is the Cryo gem that all Cryo characters need, including Wriothesley. It can be found in a variety of ways (check out our guide for a full list!), but most of it will come from defeating bosses. These are the bosses and trounce challenges that can drop Shivada Jade:
*Azhdaha and the Primo Geovishap can only drop Shivada Jade when they’re aligned with Cryo.
Enemy Drop - Where to Find Clockwork Meka Gears
Clockwork Meka enemies come in many forms, and can be found almost anywhere in Fontaine. However, they are found in higher quantities in certain places.Check our guide here for farming routes.
Otherwise, make note that these enemies need to be higher levels to drop better items.

Artificed Dynamic Gear
Boss Drop - How to Get “Tourbillon Device”
The “Tourbillon Device” item is the boss drop used in Wriothesley’s ascension. It can only be obtained by defeating thePrototype Cal. Breguet, also known as the Experimental Field Generator. This boss, which was invented to lift the Court of Fontaine into the sky, is found in the ruins of the Fontaine Research Institute, specifically in the former Academic Assembly Hall.
Local Specialty - Subdetection Unit Locations
These weird robotic beetles are also an invention of the Fontaine Research Institute. There are over 60 of these flying around the Fontaine Research Institute and its surrounding area, most of them being on the area marked “New Fontaine Research Institute” on the in-game map.
Talent Books - Order
The Fontaine talent series that Wriothesley uses is Order, fittingly, given his job. These books can be obtained by the Pale Forgotten Glory domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Trounce Materials - Primordial Greenbloom
The final item needed to upgrade Wriothesley’s talents is thePrimordial Greenbloom. This is obtainable from theReam of Beginnings domain, which is unlocked after finishingNahida’ssecond Story Quest, Homecoming.
