Xboxloves to join in on the latest memes and holiday celebrations on its social media pages. The latest post fromXboxmay be its best one yet, it being a skull trumpet rendition of theHalotheme, that is just as hilarious even though Halloween has ended.
One of the beautiful things that has happened in the modern social media age is the progression of less formal business accounts. Many of the official big brand social media accounts are pretty informal, often partaking in meme culture, and contributing to various trends while advertising their business, with Xbox being one of the best examples. For instance,Xbox used a meme when the Series S leakedwhich many agree may have been the best use of the meme, period. Earlier this year, as well, people across the internet thought Microsoft was paying influencers to talk about Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox naturally responded by including the very same phrasing it was being accused of perpetuating.

The latest Xbox meme fortunately does not carry further news context, but it does carry plenty of skeletons with trumpets. In the absurd 51-second video, the main anthem of theHalotheme is remixed with the legendary “doot-doot” skeleton trumpet meme, with skeletons appearing over an image of aHalo Infiniterender of Master Chief. This decade old meme utilizes an image ripped from Microsoft’s original 3D Movie Maker, which after being reposted and blowing up in the early 2010s, spawned numerous remixes and covers of beloved songs. To cap off the post, Xbox’s caption references Master Chief’s line at the end ofHalo 3, “Wake me when you need me,” this time being, “Doot me when you need me.”
Xbox went on to have some fun with fans in the comments as well. One fan asked where Xbox found the original skeleton trumpet image, to which Xbox responded saying, “Okay, so we actually couldn’t find the original file and the people that might know where it is aren’t online. We hope you’re okay with the doot we have at home,” with a custom skeleton trumpet meme. Another fan asked when the Doot DLC was coming forHalo Infinite, with Xbox stating, “There are currently no plans for Dootloadable Content forHalo Infinite.” While there is no “Dootloadable Content” coming, it is rumoredHalo Infinitewill be receiving at least four DLC packs.
Modern social media management can be fun for both consumers and businesses. For fans, they get fun, new content to engage with the community with, and the businesses naturally get attention and can interact with the fans. In the past,Xbox could have won an ward for its meme usage, particularly with its Series S handling, so this skeleton trumpet meme is another of Xbox’s many hits. It is a shame thatXboxwon’t be dropping any Doot DLC though forHalo Infinitethough.
