Fans have been celebrating the latest new season forDestiny 2in the best way that the internet knows how, with memes that celebrate exactly how many things the Guardians have killed. One of these memes giving an alternate opening of theSeason of the Chosen trailereven caught the attention of Zavala voice actor Lance Reddick, who lent his voice to the fan-made content.

The meme itself depicts Zavala telling the new Cabal Empress Caiatl no, only, in this case, he systematically breaks down everything that the players have done inDestiny 2and the rest of the series. Given everything that’s happened over the last seven years of the game, the meme takes the familiar format of overloading one panel with almost more wording than can fit in the space.

In response to the meme being posted on Twitter by user @xMechanizex, who tagged Reddick, the voice actor decided to make good on the fan’s wishes and read the meme in character. The result is awhole new side ofDestiny’s Zavalathat fans haven’t exactly seen before, as the Titan Vanguard curses out and threatens to sick the players on Caiatl with the promise of loot. Fans can see the video below, however, anexplicit content warningmay be necessary, given the language used in the original meme.

Reddick posted the short, new voiceover in his own tweet, shouting out @xMechanizex for sharing the meme and making the request in the first place. This isn’t the first time that theZavala voice actorhas reached out to fans, as many members ofDestiny’s voice cast continue to have a positive relationship with the player community. Considering the plethora of memes that continue to come out of Bungie’s ongoing title, this might not even be the last time that fans get to hear their content echoed back through the characters' actual voices.

Given the continuing waves of positivity and toxicity that can sometimes be found in theDestinyfan community, moments likeReddick’s appreciation of a Zavala memeis a welcome sight. While this isn’t new from the actor, these are still the types of positive interactions between the people playing and people working for the game that most fans would continue to ask for. Hopefully, more fan-content will reach the top like this meme and video to show some of the best back and forth that theDestinycommunity is capable of.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
