It’s only been a few days since the release of the HD remaster ofThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swordand plenty of new players are discovering much of what the game has to offer. Even old fans of the game are remembering whatThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sworddoes right. Although, some new players are discovering a lot of facets and details that weren’t initially discovered when the game first came out.
WhileSkyward Sworddoes possess numerous hidden items and locations, the game is known for being one of the most linear installments inThe Legend of Zeldaseries. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with this, but those who have recently playedBreath of the Wild, for instance, may find the experience rather jarring overall. However, this doesn’t mean thatSkyward Swordis bereft of hidden gameplay details. In fact, one player, in particular, came to an interesting realization about bombs.

AReddituser by the name of benjaninja found out that if the player picks up a bomb and then a brief cutscene plays, the timer on the bomb will continue during the cutscene. This led to the player getting blown up after the cutscene played and then proceeded to have Link fall into a pit of lava. A rather unfortunate, if not hilarious, occurrence overall.
Bomb fruits have made various appearances throughout theZeldaseries, particularly in 3DZeldagames likeThe Wind WakerandOcarina of Time. Although, most would assume that once a cutscene plays that reveals a new area of the dungeon, active gameplay would be paused while the cutscene plays. Apparently, that is not the case withSkyward Sword HD.
For many fans, it’s exciting to see how much attention theNintendo Switchport ofSkyward Swordhas received since its launch a few days ago. Compared to other 3DZeldagames,Skyward Swordhasn’t always been looked on favorably, given its aforementioned linearity and the often irritating motion controls that served as integral mechanics during the game’s first initial run.
Though, theSkyward Swordremaster has also added numerous quality of life mechanics in order to make the game more streamlined and accessible than its original version. There’s a lot of things that aredifferent inThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swordremasterthat players will likely encounter at some point during their playthrough. Not to mention that, if this Reddit clip is any indication, there will definitely be hidden gameplay moments and features that players will discover by just playing the game normally.
